The Grand mansion in its time was built by the Holmes family, the local owners of the mortuary in the mid 1920's. This three story brick and lathe & plaster Scandinavian style home with its 12 & 12 pitched roof with dormers and beautiful natural stone walls and expansive lawns & gardens reminds us of an era gone by. In the early 1930's the home was known as the Sugar Pine Guest Lodge.
